COURSE TITLE: Principles of Management Workshop

AIM

The focus of this program is aimed towards assisting managers to develop a more flexible and effective attitude in the workplace by; exploring the dynamism of the working environment in an effort to develop techniques and methods to improve personal performance. This will, in turn, assist in an improved and efficient delivery of quality service within and outside the organization.

TARGET GROUP

This training program is designed for Command Level personnel from the rank of Superintendent to Assistant Superintendent.

DURATION: 1 day

OBJECTIVES

At the end of the training participants will be able to:

  1. Identify the management process
  2. Identify, recognize and appraise feelings and behavior which promotes negative synergies in and out of the workplace
  3. Recognize and use the most appropriate and effective technique (s) to enhance communication within the working environment
  4. Relate to employees behavior (s) in an effort to limit conflict in the workplace
  5. Identify team building techniques which can help improve staff performance outcomes

METHODOLOGY

The methodology will include a mixture of interactive training techniques and methods that will allow participants to internalize the knowledge learned in an effort to improve their leadership skills. Participants will be expected to play an active role in the training program which will encompass; study teams, working groups, role play session, management games, simulations and case studies.

COURSE TITLE: Managing People for Performance Workshop

AIM

The focus of this program is aimed at helping middle managers develop a more flexible and effective attitude in the workplace by; recognizing the objectives and importance of performance techniques geared towards the improvement of personal performance. This will, in turn, assist in an improved and efficient delivery of quality service within and outside the organization.

TARGET GROUP

This training program is designed for middle-level supervisors from the rank of Inspector to Sergeant.

DURATION: 1 day

OBJECTIVES

At the end of the training participants will be able to:

  1. Identify the role of middle managers in managing employees performance
  2. Identify, recognize and appraise feelings and behavior which promotes negative synergies
  3. Recognize and use the most appropriate and effective technique (s) to enhance communication within the workplace
  4. Relate to employees behavior (s) in an effort to limit conflict in the workplace
  5. Recognize how adults learn
  6. Recognize the importance of coaching employees and developing an on the job training plan

METHODOLOGY
